Zlatan: I want to win at United

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has come to Manchester United with only one objective in mind – to win as many trophies as possible with the club.

The 34-year-old Swedish striker was officially unveiled as José Mourinho’s second signing by the club today, after Ibrahimovic himself had announced his arrival yesterday via his social media accounts:

And in his first interview with in-house channel MUTV, Ibrahimovic told them that he was happy that the deal had finally been concluded and he was excited to start pre-season training:

I’m super excited. I am super, super happy. Finally, it is done! There have been a lot of talks but it has come to the moment where everything is done.

Now we start, now the hard work starts. I am super happy and just waiting to get to know the guys, to train and I am here in the training facility. It looks like it is a big club, a huge club, so I am excited.

Ibrahimovic also said that he was excited to be able to work with Mourinho again after the pair had briefly worked together at Inter Milan:

I have great memories [of working with Mourinho]. The only regret I had with Jose was that it was a short time with him. I had one season. We won together, we enjoyed it together, we had a great time together and I learned a lot.

I got to know him as a person, not only as a coach, and I only have positive things to say. He is a winner, I am a winner, we both know what we want and that is to win. Wherever we go we win, and we will win.

Finally, Ibrahimovic set out his targets for his time at the club and he left no doubt as to what he expected to accomplish at Old Trafford:

I have come to win, I haven’t come to waste time or to look at the weather. I am here to win and that is my objective. I don’t give up until I win. That is the objective, to win.

We will play in the Europa League and for everything we play for we go to win. With the coach, with the players, everyone working collectively, playing collectively, you can reach your goals. We will do all of the things we need to do to reach our main goal.
