Manchester United began their pre-season tour of China in disappointing fashion on Friday as they lost 4-1 to Borussia Dortmund.
The Reds were simply second best in a match which had looked like would be a close contest, but the German outfit were much further into their pre-season programme than United.
United only began training again at the start of last week but couldn’t really have any excuses for the loss to the Bundesliga runners-up.
The game will still have been useful for new boss Jose Mourinho, though, as he saw his team in action against an extremely tough opponent.
