United legend Law rushed to hospital

Legendary Manchester United striker and fan favourite Denis Law was rushed to hospital on Monday morning.

The Scottish forward was at Manchester Airport, just minutes away from a family holiday to Menorca, when he collapsed and was swiftly taken to Trafford General Hospital, according to The Telegraph.

76-year-old Law was said by doctors at the hospital to have collapsed because of a vasovagal condition; he suffered a sudden rush of blood to the head, which made him faint.

Law himself said after the incident that it was not the first of its kind which he has suffered:

“I went white and did not feel well at all. The next thing I collapsed while in my seat.”

“I feel better now, but I’m having tests as it’s happened a few times in the past few years.”

“It’s not pleasant, one time I thought I’d snuffed it.”

Law is now recovering at home and is hoping to resume his family holiday soon.

He scored 236 goals in 404 appearances for United, and is of course honoured outside Old Trafford as part of the club’s famous Trinity Statue, alongside Sir Bobby Charlton and George Best.

Any concerns over his health are worrying, with the ex-United man having suffered with prostate cancer in the past – something he thankfully managed to overcome.
