Manchester United found out who their Europa League opponents will be this season, in Friday’s draw in Monaco.
The first ball drawn in the group stage draw, United went straight into group A, with the host declaring that not much needed to be said to introduce the Red Devils – Jose Mourinho’s side were one of three former European champions in Pot One, alongside Internazionale and Ajax.
The second team to be drawn into group A, joining Manchester United, was Fenerbahce. This is certainly a team United will have wanted to avoid, given the well-documented difficulty of playing away in Turkey.
That piece of rather unfortunate luck will also see a certain Robin van Persie return to Old Trafford.

The third team to be drawn into Group A were Feyenoord of the Eredivisie. The Dutch side are a good team to have drawn in terms of distance to travel, but will also pose a serious threat to United.
Their inclusion in the group of course brings yet another ex-Premier League Dutch striker to Old Trafford – Dirk Kuyt, who captains Feyenoord.

The fourth and final team drawn into Group A alongside Manchester United, Fenerbahce and Feyenoord were Zorya Luhansk, who play in the Ukrainian Premier League.
All in all, it’s a tough draw for United – but they’ll still feel confident of topping the group!
