Manchester United defender Eric Bailly suffered a serious knee ligament injury against Chelsea, according to Sky Sports.
The Ivorian centre-back suffered the injury after a coming together with Eden Hazard and was taken off after 52 minutes during United’s 4-0 defeat on Sunday.

In the post-match press conference, United manager José Mourinho confirmed the injury:
He is injured and I am afraid it is a bad injury. It is in his knee, the ligament area. He feels it is really bad.
This will come as a major blow for United, with Bailly having been in terrific form for the Reds this season since his arrival from Villarreal in the summer.

The Ivorian international had featured in every United game this season, bar the EFL Cup victory against Northampton Town in late September. With Mourinho blaming ‘incredible defensive mistakes’ for their defeat against the Blues, the 22-year-old’s absence will be felt.
United are already without Phil Jones, with the 24-year-old having been out for the past month with a knee ligament injury, while vice-captain Chris Smalling had recovered from a muscle problem to start in the humiliating defeat on Sunday.
