Missed chances were the order of the day at Old Trafford, as ten-man Manchester United were held to another frustrating draw by Burnley.
It was complete and utter domination from United from start to finish, who controlled the game and set the pace throughout, but failed to put the ball in the back of the net with their 36 shots on goal.
José Mourinho’s side also came up against an inspired Tom Heaton in the Clarets goal, with the ex-Manchester United product making some fine saves to deny Zlatan Ibrahimovic and company from scoring.
It was a frustrating day on a whole for Mourinho, who was sent to the stands at the start of the second half after complaining about referee Mark Clattenburg, before Ander Herrera was harshly sent off midway through the second half.
United continued to press for a winner despite being a man short, but captain Wayne Rooney spurned a golden chance at the end, firing over inside the box after a well-worked free-kick.
