Manchester United convincingly beat Leicester on Sunday night 3-0, as they close the gap on top 4 rivals Liverpool and Arsenal.
United struggled in the opening 20 minutes as José Mourinho opted to play Rashford and Ibrahimović up front together in a 4-4-2 system. Mourinho soon saw the error of the formation and switched back to 4-2-3-1, in which United excelled.
Mkhitaryan put United ahead in the 42nd minute with a brilliant run from the half way line and smashing it past Schmeichel. It was only 1 and a half minutes later when Ibrahimović doubled the lead after a fantastic pass from Antonio Valencia. Juan Mata sealed the win 3 minutes into the second half with Man of the Match Mkhitaryan being involved again after a lovely 1-2 with the Spaniard.
It was a much needed win for United who now sit just 1 point behind Liverpool and 2 points behind Arsenal, who both lost on Saturday. Here are the match ratings from the 3-0 win…
