Manchester United have seized control of their last-32 Europa League tie, after comfortably beating St Etienne 3-0.
A hat-trick from Zlatan Ibrahimovic ensured United will go into the second-leg confident of being able to progress into the last-16.
United started the game slowly but found themselves 1-0 up after 15 minutes. Ibrahimovic controversially won a free kick on the edge of the St Etienne box. He stepped up and his deflected strike wrong footed the keeper and crept in.
It took until the 75th minute for United and Ibrahimovic to add a second. He converted from close range after good work from substitute Marcus Rashford.
Ibrahimovic completed the scoring in the 88th minute. He was brought down by Theophile-Catherine and stepped up to coolly convert the penalty and put United in a commanding position going into the second-leg on Wednesday.
