Manchester United came away from Old Trafford on Thursday night with a huge victory over a strong Saint-Etienne side. It was a hard fought match but United seemed to gain control in the second half and could have easily doubled the final score.
Saint-Etienne were very threatening in the first half and obviously determined to score an away goal, but despite a poor defensive showing, United managed to keep a fifth consecutive clean sheet – and have still only conceded one goal at home in Europe this season.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic fired home his first hat-trick for Manchester United with his 21st, 22nd and 23rd goals of the season.
