Manchester United have been drawn to face Russian side Rostov in the Europa League round of 16.
The first leg will take place on March 9 with the Reds facing a mammoth trip to Russia, with the return leg taking place a week later on March 16 at Old Trafford. In between, United will face Chelsea in the FA Cup quarter-finals, with the second leg of the round of 16 tie coming 72 hours after the match at Stamford Bridge.
United sealed their progress to the round of 16 with a 4-0 aggregate victory over French side Saint-Etienne, with a Zlatan Ibrahimovic hat-trick in the first leg at Old Trafford and a Henrikh Mkhitaryan goal at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard seeing José Mourinho’s side advancing to the next round.
Rostov, meanwhile, have had a long and memorable European campaign so far this season. Having dropped into the Europa League after finishing third in a Champions League group consisting of Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and PSV Eindhoven (beating the Bundesliga champions along the way), they sealed their progress to the round of 16 by beating Sparta Prague 5-1 on aggregate in the round of 32.
Elsewhere, the pick of the other ties in the round of 16 sees Lyon face Roma and an all-German clash between Schalke and Borussia Monchengladbach.
