Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is really looking like he was born for the Red Devils job – further consolidating his good start to life as United boss by praising an opposition player in the way Sir Alex Ferguson once did.
Southampton new boy Manolo Gabbiadini scored two goals for the Saints at Wembley as Claude Puel’s side ran United close in the EFL Cup final on Sunday afternoon.

He also had a goal incorrectly ruled out for offside – which would have been the opener if given.
Mourinho shook hands with the Italian forward after the game and praised him for his performance, which saw him score his fourth and fifth Southampton goals in just three games for the club.
Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Gabbiadini revealed that Mourinho said:
“You did a great job, you scored two goals of a real champion”
The ex-Napoli striker described the United boss as ‘special’ following their brief conversation:
“Mourinho is a special person, and not only for his successes as a manager. He is charismatic.”
Gabbiadini will get another chance to impress Mourinho this season, as his side will host the Red Devils in the Premier League.
The game was originally scheduled for the 12th of March, but United’s progress in the FA Cup means that fixture has been postponed and is yet to be rearranged.
