Manchester United midfielder has dropped a massive hint that his Old Trafford career will soon come to an end.
He held a special press conference to announce that he will play his testimonial game with the club in June, which will feature a 2008-themed United side as well as an all-star team selected by Carrick.
When asked about his United future, with his current contract expiring in the summer, Carrick said: “nothing to report”.

The fact that the testimonial will take place in June, rather than August, is also a hint that he will leave United upon his contract expiry; testimonials are normally part of the club’s pre-season schedule, but if he is leaving the club, the game will have to be played between the end of the current season and the start of pre-season, which places it in… June.
Carrick has also hinted at retirement:
I have had so many good times here that I couldn’t play anywhere else in England,
I must admit I would find it difficult to play anyone else in this country after playing here. I don’t think I could do that.
I have always wanted to go out at the top, I have felt like that for quite some time now. I want to go out on my terms. That’s not me being selfish, I just want don’t want to go over the hill and fizzle away. I want to go out when I know it’s the right time, but it’s a tough balance to get, knowing that that is my lot.
Whatever his decision, United fans will be pleased to know that they won’t lose one of their favourite players to another English club this summer.
