A 1-1 draw with Eddie Howe’s Bournemouth left Manchester United languishing in sixth place in the Premier League table.

Manchester United opened the scoring in the 23rd minute, with Marcus Rojo turning in a Michael Carrick shot to put the Red Devils 1-0 up.

The first half finished in controversy, with Bournemouth midfielder Andrew Surman shown a red card for pushing Manchester United forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic to the ground.

Josh King, formerly of Manchester United, levelled the scoring for Bournemouth from the penalty spot after Marc Pugh was brought down inside the box.

United were given a golden opportunity in the opening of the second half after Bournemouth left-back Adam Smith was penalised for handball in the box. However, Ibrahimovic saw his penalty saved by the Cherries keeper Artur Boruc.

Jose Mourinho’s men continued to dominate the second half, with Paul Pogba having a number of chances in the Bournemouth box.

However, United couldn’t retake the lead, leaving them still just outside of the Champions League spots in the Premier League table.

Here’re the best photos, of what was a controversial game throughout.
