Manchester United reject £60m offer for David de Gea

Manchester United have rejected a £60m offer for David de Gea from Real Madrid, according to Sky Sports.

The Spanish goalkeeper has been linked to Real Madrid for a couple of summers now, with the two clubs agreeing to a deal in the summer of 2015 before a broken fax machine thwarted the deal.

The deal that was penciled in also had Keylor Navas going to Old Trafford, a possibility that could once again emerge this summer should Los Blancos continue their pursuit of De Gea. Otherwise, United could turn to the likes of Sergio Romero, Joel Pereira, or Sam Johnstone instead of hunting for a new goalkeeper.

The proposed £60m fee would represent a world record transfer fee for a goalkeeper, surpassing the £33m Juventus paid Parma for Gianluigi Buffon in 2001.

However, by the looks of it, the Red Devils either want more for De Gea or are not planning on letting him return to the Spanish capital.
