Roma offer United target new contract

Manchester United target Radja Nainggolan has been offered a new contract by his current club, Roma, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 29-year-old met with sporting director Monchi, and they spoke about a renewal until 2021. His yearly wages would be over €4 million, a rise in €1 million from his current income.

The Belgian international told dh.net:

I’ve already said that I want to stay at Roma,

I have made promises, I have respected them, and now it’s Roma’s turn. I am a man of my word, and Roma have made me promises, too.

It looks unlikely that United will secure his signature, as he seems to be set on staying in Rome.

Roma, who have already extended the contracts of Kostas Manolas and Kevin Strootman, are eager to keep another big name.

Nainggolan has made 124 appearances and scored 24 goals for Roma, including when he was on loan with them from Cagliari. Furthermore, he has made 29 appearances and scored 6 goals for Belgium since making his debut in 2009.

The Red Devils have tough competition for the midfielder, as he is also being targeted by Chelsea and Inter Milan.

The Manchester club will have to make a great offer to convince I Giallorossi to sell their player.
