Manchester United are set to make a decision on whether or not Paul Pogba will have surgery to fix his hamstring injury, which has kept him out of action since he sustained it in the Red Devils’ Champions League opener against FC Basel.
The Frenchman went down injury early in the game and had to limp off the field, and it has now emerged (l’Equipe — French) that United are yet to decide whether or not to try to speed up his recovery with surgery on the injury.

Surgeon Sakari Orava, who has monitored Pogba in the past and is currently treating Barcelona’s Ousmane Dembele, who is also out with a muscular injury, says that Pogba doesn’t necessarily need surgery:
His wound is a bit different from [Ousmane] Dembele because he can cure without surgery
Pogba missed out on most of his side’s 3-0 win over Basel after his substitution with the injury, as well as the subsequent 4-0 win over Everton, the 4-1 Carabao Cup win over Championship Burton Albion and the weekend’s narrow 1-0 victory away to Southampton.
The talented midfielder is also set to miss United’s upcoming Champions League fixture against CSKA Moscow followed by their home game against Crystal Palace in the Premier League; it is hoped that he will be back in time to face Liverpool on 14th October, but no timescale has been put on his recovery at this point.
