“Tony Martial, he came from France, the English press said he had no chance, 50 million down the drain, as Tony Martial scores again!”
That is the signature chant of one Anthony Martial, who reached a personal landmark on Saturday afternoon, making his 100th appearance for Manchester United in the Reds’ 4-0 victory over Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.
The Frenchman had a productive day as well coming off the bench, running rings around the Palace defence and setting up Romelu Lukaku for the Reds’ final goal of the encounter. It was a fantastic way to mark a century of appearances, most of which have been littered with memorable moments.
Since joining the Reds from Monaco in the summer of 2015 for an initial £36 million, the 21-year-old has brought joy to United fans around the world, regularly shimmying his way around defenders with ease on the left wing and has proven to be deadly in front of goal, with his composed finishes into the corners of the net becoming a trademark.
30 goals and 23 assists in just two and a bit seasons is no mean feat for a player of his age, and in honour of his century of appearances, we take a look at Tony Martial’s finest moments in a Manchester United shirt so far:
