Jose Mourinho’s tactics came under great scrutiny over the last week or so after playing out a dull draw at Anfield last weekend.
Without a number of key players including Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini and Eric Bailly, United’s supposedly negative approach to the game was rewarded with a hard-fought point at Anfield against a Liverpool side that can run up the score.
The point keeps United in second place, within touching distance of Manchester City as well as seven points clear of Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in the Premier League table.
Next up for United is a trip to newly-promoted Huddersfield for the first time in the Premier League era.
All three players mentioned above remain ruled out for this game but United enter as heavy favourites and a win is expected.
Here is our predicted XI for the match at the John Smith’s Stadium.
