Manchester United will need just one point from their remaining two games to guarantee their place in the knockout stages of the Champions League after a 2-0 win over Benfica.
Despite Anthony Martial’s missed spot-kick, United went ahead right on half-time, although it was with a bit of good fortune.
Nemanja Matic hit the post with a well struck, left footed shot from outside the box and the ball cannoned off the woodwork, hit Benfica goalkeeper Mile Svilar on the back and bounced into the net.
The game was pretty much put to bed in the 78th minute when Daley Blind converted from the spot after Marcus Rashford drew a foul in the area.
