According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are prepared to bid £177m for Real Madrid star, Marco Asensio, and are prepared to offer him £461k per week.
United already brought in many players under Jose Mourinho and they eyed the Spanish starlet in the summer but he stayed at Madrid and has shown his class this season, getting seven goals and two assists in 18 games.
If the transfer was to go through, it’d smash United’s transfer record of £89 for Paul Pogba in 2016. They are looking for an attacking midfielder after Henrikh Mkhitaryan has not been in great form this season.
Asensio has recently been called up for the Spain squad, where he played 25 minutes for his national side as they thrashed Costa Rica 5-0, and is expected to be one of their main men during the 2018 World Cup in Russia and if the reports are true, he’ll sign a 5-year-deal with the Red Devils after the World Cup campaign.
