The Daily Mail has reported that Mesut Ozil would favour a move to Old Trafford, rather than a move to Catalonian giants Barcelona.
Ozil’s contract at Arsenal runs out in the summer and so is able to talk to other clubs on a pre-contract agreement for a free transfer away from the Emirates.
It is believed that he wishes to reunite with former boss José Mourinho, whom he worked under at rivals of Barcelona, Real Madrid.
The German international turned down a £235,000 per week contract from Arsene Wenger but wishes to have a deal close to £300,000, which would make him the highest paid player in the history of Arsenal.

It is reported that Mourinho wishes to better United’s attack, as seen by the performance against Manchester City, and Ozil coming to Old Trafford for free would be a huge part of the manager’s overhaul.
The 29-year-old has been linked with FC Barcelona, who see him as their second choice to Liverpool star Philippe Coutinho, who will cost the Catalonians north of £100m
It is also claimed that Ozil will be a replacement for Juan Mata at the Theatre of Dreams, who has been linked to a move away from England to Italy, more specifically to Inter Milan.
Ozil has also told Barcelona that there has been no agreement made with any other club, so it is not written in stone if he would come to Old Trafford or if he may stay at Arsenal.
