Inter not scared of losing Perisic to United
Inter manager Luciano Spaletti has spoken to the media about the transfer rumours linking his players to exits away from the San Siro, as per Goal.
These rumours include Mauro Icardi to Real Madrid, Joao Mario who is said to be unhappy in Milan, and Ivan Perisic moving to Old Trafford.
Mario was linked with a move to Manchester United and may still move as he is said to be very unhappy. It was thought that he may move as part of a swap deal for Juan Mata or Henrikh Mkhitaryan.
Perisic was heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils last summer but United would not pay the £40m which Spaletti said would be the minimum that the Nerazzurri would let him leave for.
Talking to the media, Spaletti said (via Goal):
The players under contract here are our players.
The Chinese ownership have the results of the team at the heart of things.
Inter’s results are going incredibly well, with the club sitting third in Serie A, and look strong to qualify for the Champions League, where they haven’t featured since 2011/12.
Spaletti is looking for a strong second half of the season to ensure that they do qualify for the number one club competition in Europe, and transfer outgoings can damage that, but Spaletti remains confident that no major players for Inter will leave this January.
