Head coach of the France National Football Team, Didier Deschamps, is to give his opinion to Anthony Martial as to whether he should leave Manchester United in the summer, according to Goal.
Martial has been linked with a move for Italian giants, champions and league leaders Juventus, who Deschamps used to play for.
This is due to the fierce competition for places up front and in the surrounding attacking positions in José Mourinho’s team.
Martial has to compete with Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Jesse Lingard and Romelu Lukaku for places on the Manchester United team sheet.
However, even with this fierce competition, Martial has been getting regular game time since the arrival of Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal.
Martial is likely to be called up by Deschamps as part of his World Cup squad in June on the plane to Russia, as he has been one of United’s standout performers this season.
Deschamps said in a recent interview (via Goal):
Martial has a contract with United and the club does not want to sell him. Then let’s see if he will be looked for, by Juventus or by someone else.
I do not give advice, I give my opinion. Then, eventually, it is up to the players to decide.
