Blind to reconsider his future at Old Trafford

Manchester United defender Daley Blind says he will consider his future at Old Trafford after a frustrating season.

Blind appeared on the pitch for United once in May and once in April, indicating that he may well be surplus to requirements under Jose Mourinho.

The Dutchman has been asked about his Manchester United future and it seems as though the chances of a departure are high given his limited opportunities with the Red Devils.

As quoted by De Telegraaf, Blind said:

We’re going to think about it in the holidays. United is also a nice big club. Of course there is a lot of competition there. I am still under contract for another year.

I certainly will not make a panic transfer, because it is not guaranteed that I will play at a new club. We have to wait, but it seems logical that I wasn’t satisfied with the second half of the season. So first I’ll go on vacation and then put all the possibilities next to each other.

The versatile player had an injury to contend with earlier in the season and this resulted in him being sidelined for some time. Upon his return, though, Blind found it difficult to get some game time.

It became very clear that he wasn’t one of Jose Mourinho’s core players and speculation of a move away was ignited. A return to Ajax has been rumoured, though this doesn’t appear to have amounted to anything just yet.
