Marouane Fellaini’s contract runs out this summer and the Belgian midfielder has so far not signed an extension with Manchester United.
Reports from the Belgian media today suggest that there is an 80% chance that Fellaini will join Serie A giants AC Milan.
The 30-year-old is attracting interest from several clubs in Europe and China. PSG, Monaco, Marseille, Besiktas and many Chinese clubs have shown interest in signing the former Everton player.
United manager Jose Mourinho has made it clear that he likes Fellaini and would like him to stay at the club as he is one of the players he ‘trusts’.
Milan are the favourites to sign Fellaini on a free transfer this summer. The Serie A stalwarts are ready to offer the Belgian international a 3-year-deal to get him to the San Siro in the window.
This is likely to be the last big contract of the player’s career and the one or two-year deal that United are likely to offer him is expected to be too short in the mind of the two-way star.
The stand-off between United and Fellaini’s representatives will play into the hands of Milan, who are reportedly set to offer the FA Cup winner over €10m a year in wages.
