Real Madrid’s Champions League hero Gareth Bale wants to join Manchester United this summer, but the player’s wages could prove to be a problem.
The Independent claim that a move to Old Trafford would be Bale’s preferred choice if he is to leave Madrid.
However, there remain huge doubts over whether or not a deal could happen due to the player’s wage demands.

Bale is said to be earning close to £600,000 a week in Madrid, something that United would struggle to match for a player of his age.
United have been long-term admirers of the player and tried to sign him before he joined the Spanish side from Tottenham.
Jose Mourinho has long talked up a move for the Welshman but the report claims that United are no longer prioritising a move for an attacker this summer.
Bale himself admitted that he could be on the move when he spoke after his heroics in the Champions League final for Madrid on Saturday night.
I need to be playing week in, week out, and that’s not happened this season, I have to sit down with my agent in the summer and discuss it.
