Manchester United have made a club-record bid of £96 million for highly rated Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, according to the Metro.
The report claims that United want to make the Serbian their most expensive player and are keen to wrap up a deal.
Jose Mourinho has been following the midfielder and is hoping to fend off interest in the player from both Barcelona and Juventus who have shown strong interest in him.

Milinkovic-Savic would provide a partner to play alongside Nemanja Matic at the heart of the United midfield something which has proven to be difficult to find last season.
The Old Trafford club want to complete the deal prior to the World Cup which gets underway in just over two and a half weeks.
The Italian side are said to be valuing the player at close to £131 million, but United have made their intentions clear.
