Gareth Bale is looking increasingly likely to remain in Madrid this summer following Zinedine Zidane’s exit from the club.
The Mirror claim that the manager’s departure has boosted Bale’s chances of staying with Los Blancos.
Despite his Champions League heroics, his future with the club looked bleak under Zidane.
Bale had lost his place in the starting XI through injuries and as a result of the form of Isco and Karim Benzema.
Zidane opted to use Cristiano Ronaldo as the team’s focal point, despite the inconsistencies the Portuguese star has shown in the latter stages of the season.
Bale was signed by Madrid back in 2013 as a long-term replacement for Ronaldo.
United have long been linked with Bale and looked like the most serious contenders for his signature this summer.
Chelsea have also been linked in the past, but are unlikely to be able to attract the player without Champions League football.
