Reports today say that Manchester United want a move for Gareth Bale, but are yet to receive any response from Real Madrid meaning any transfer is unlikely.
ESPN say that United are keen on signing the Welshman, as they consider him to be one of the top talents in the world.
However, they do not want a long drawn out transfer saga, so would any make a move if Madrid were willing to make a deal with Jose Mourinho’s side, or if Bale was to hand in a transfer request at the Bernabeu.
Bale’s agent, Jonathan Barnett, is due to meet high ranking officials at the Spanish giants to discuss the former Tottenham winger’s future, after telling reporters after Madrid’s Champions League win over Liverpool that he was frustrated with a lack of first-team football.
Any move away from Madrid may be in doubt, however, with the departure of Zinedine Zidane from the Bernabeu this week. Zidane was known to prefer other options over Bale, but a future boss could prefer the Welshman especially after his fantastic game in the Champions League final.
