According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United have had an offer accepted for Porto right-back, Diogo Dalot.
Sources close to the player have said that the transfer could be finalised this week. A deal was made between the clubs over the weekend, with only the ‘smaller details’ needing to be negotiated now.
Dalot has a £17.5m release clause at Porto, however, this clause does not become active until June 30th, so United are willing to pay £19m instead to get Dalot training with Mourinho and the squad before their pre-season fixtures.
The youngster has only made eight appearances for Porto’s first team, grabbing three assists in that time, so it will be a signing for the future of Manchester United for when current right-back, Antonio Valencia retires. At the age of 32, too, the Ecuadorian is expected to slow down soon.
The signing of Dalot means that it is now much more likely that Matteo Darmian will leave Old Trafford this summer.
