The Red Devils have been chasing the Brazilian international’s signature for months and it seems they are now set to announce his arrival after extensive negotiations with Shakhtar.
Fred enjoyed yet another impressive season at Shakhtar last term and this attracted the interest of United, along with their rivals Manchester City.

A deal for Fred is understood to be worth around £40 million, however, the deal could rise up to around £52m, which is the full extent of his current release clause in his contract at Shakhtar Donetsk.
Fred is set to be the first of many new signings for United this summer. Diogo Dalot is in line to become Jose Mourinho’s second signing, with the full-back likely to join in a deal worth £17.5m from FC Porto.
