Manchester United are interested in Steaua Bucharest attacker Dennis Man, according to the club’s president Gigi Becali.
The 19-year old attacking midfielder made his debut in 2016 and has since gone on to become a key figure for last season’s Romanian runners-up.
His potential has shone through enough to attract the attention of José Mourinho, but Becali has insisted his asset is not for sale, according to the Metro.
Talking about the future of his talented young winger, Becali said:
Manchester United asked me about Dennis Man and I want €30million (£26m).
I know that they won’t pay this amount, but the player isn’t for sale.
It is also claimed that Mourinho went on a personal scouting trip to watch Man in action for Romania, where he appeared as a second half substitute against Finland in Bucharest on Tuesday night.
If United decide to step up their pursuit of the young Romanian, Man would become the third signing of the window for the Red Devils, with the club having already signed Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk and Diogo Dalot from Porto.
