Did you know that eleven Manchester United players are playing at the World Cup in Russia this year? These players include Ashley Young, Marcus Rashford, Phil Jones and Jesse Lingard for England, Marcos Rojos for Argentina, Nemanja Matic for Serbia, Paul Pogba for France, Romelu Lukaku for Belgium, Victor Lindelof for Sweden, Marouane Fellaini for Belgium and David de Gea for Spain.
According to many experts, Marcus Rashford was one of the Manchester United’s stars that had an impressive performance in round one in Russia. Although he was a substitute and played for around 20 minutes, his energy and overall performance were crucial for England’s win against Tunisia. That was a thrilling match in which England managed to score a goal at the death to secure a 2-1 win.
Raheem Sterling played but struggled to impress, leading to many believing Rashford should now start in game two. This is one of the main reasons why sportsbooks are offering many betting options involving Marcus Rashford like when and how he will score the next goal for England. His performance and the win in this important first match have increased the odds of England entering the second stage too. Many online bookmakers are offering special deals for those planning on placing bets on England to win the World Cup.
Jesse Lingard also did well and didn’t miss this chance to say that this was one of the best moments of his life. Finally, Ashley Young didn’t want to hide his feeling and described the fantastic atmosphere in the English team which reminded him of the good old days in Manchester United when Sir Alex Ferguson had the strongest squad in the world. Young pointed out that the strength and collective mentality of the English team will become something that the opponents will fear in the next matches.
It’s good to mention that it seems that all players including Manchester United’s English players are very proud to play for their countries and they all had excellent performances so far. Of course, we are talking about the players that were given a chance to play.
For instance, Marouane Fellaini was not part of Belgium’s squad, but he is about to end his contract with Manchester United anyway. But his teammate Lukaku managed to score twice for his national squad which makes it the most effective player at this World Cup that comes from Manchester United so far. There is no doubt that Romelu Lukaku will show more of his talent in the next matches and it’s very likely that his national squad will go to the next stage. Some say that this is not good news for Jose Mourinho who wants to keep the squad away from injuries and save his players’ energy for the preparation period. But, the fact is that if all players do well at the World Cup, they will be more enthusiastic and inspired.
We should also mention Victor Lindelof. Unfortunately, he was not part of Sweden’s first team, but despite this fact, Sweden managed to win the match. This was another bad news for the player because it seems that he didn’t do quite well in Manchester United either. That’s why he hopes that he will get a chance on the next matches. Without any doubt,he has the skills and strength and now he needs an opportunity to show these things to the world and help his team make better results.
Finally, Paul Pogba played a vital role in both goals that France scored against Australia. France managed to win this match, but it seems that French fans were dissatisfied with Pogba’s performance and the performance of their national team in general. But, according to Pogba, the criticism will make him stronger and better and he hopes that he will be able to help France find its way to the next stage. As we all know, Paul Pogba was able to provide help to Manchester United too when it was necessary.
Manchester United is one of the teams with most players on this World Cup. This unique experience will definitely help the squad in the next season in the Premier League.
