The club have confirmed that the midfielder has signed an extension on his previous deal, to take him through to the summer of 2020.
The deal also includes the option to extend the contract a further year – to 2021 – if both parties agree to it when the time comes.
Fellaini is currently in Russia with Belgium for the World Cup, where he was named as man of the match against England on Thursday.
Arsenal were thought to be interested in a deal for Fellaini, before United made it clear that they wanted to keep hold of the Belgium international.
