Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has rejected the chance to sign Everton this summer, according to a report in the Sunday Times.
The 23-year-old signed for Manchester United four years ago, when he was viewed as one of the best young defenders in Europe. However, his promising career was disrupted by a severe leg break in 2015, and since then he has failed to live up to the hype and expectation.

Jose Mourinho has been openly critical of Shaw in the past and he even accused him of being overweight and lazy. In fact, it is clear that Mourinho thinks little of Shaw as he used him in just 13 matches last season. However, it seems that Shaw would rather stay and fight for his place than move to Merseyside.
Everton are in need of a suitable left-back replacement for Leighton Baines as his career is reaching its twilight phase, but it seems that Marco Silva is now going to have to continue his search elsewhere.
