Antonio Conte ‘interested’ in United job
Former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is believed to be ‘interested’ in the Manchester United managerial vacancy, talkSPORT reports.
United announced the sacking of Jose Mourinho on Tuesday morning, before appointing former player Ole Gunnar Solskjae as caretaker manager until the end of the season.
United will appoint a permanent manager to the vacancy in the summer, with Conte interested in the position.
Conte is yet to return to management following his sacking as Chelsea manager at the end of last season, with legal disputes between the two parties ongoing.
Conte is believed to have already rejected two approaches from Spanish giants Real Madrid whilst he resolves his issues with the Blues, but is keen to return to management ahead of the 2019/20 season.
The Italian would prove a good option for United, having guided Chelsea to the Premier League in his debut season with the club and the FA Cup a year later.
Conte has also enjoyed managerial stints at Juventus and with the Italian national team.
United are also being linked with the likes of Mauricio Pochettino and Zinedine Zidane.
