In addition to his defensive contributions, the midfielder had a fantastic goalscoring run in April. He scored in the defeat to Leeds United and the recent win against Brentford. It equals his tally in March and ensures that he goes out in fashionable style before he leaves the club this summer.
Captain Fernandes Set to Stay
The Times’ have reported that Bruno Fernandes is set to stay at Manchester United. The United captain was close to leaving for Saudi Arabia last summer. However, the 31-year-old was ultimately swayed by his wife, Ana, and manager Ruben Amorim’s powers of persuasion.
The news comes as a huge boost for the club as they prepare to return to the Champions League with their captain leading the side. Fernandes has been instrumental this season as a playmaker. The Portuguese midfielder is now just one assist shy of matching the single-season Premier League record of 20, held jointly by Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne.
