Will Man Utd co-owner Ratcliffe’s Harry Kane ‘Dream’ Become Reality After Bayern Loss?

  • Could Harry Kane make a shock move to Manchester United
  • United reignite interest in the striker
  • Could United lure the Englishman back home?

Manchester United have received a fresh update on their interest in Harry Kane, as the Red Devils continue to monitor one of the most prolific forwards in world football.

The 32-year-old has excelled in Germany across his three seasons with Bayern Munich, scoring 140 goals in 144 appearances, including 32 in the Champions League.

During that spell, Kane has lifted two Bundesliga titles and the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup, whilst also guiding Bayern to the DFB-Pokal final, where they will face Stuttgart on 23 May. Individually, he has operated on another level.

In his first season at Bayern, he finished as the top scorer in the Bundesliga, the Champions League, and across all of Europe, whilst also collecting five Goal of the Month awards and four Player of the Month honours.

A return to England may now sit back on the table, however, with several Premier League clubs continuing to keep tabs on the veteran striker.

Man Utd Learn Harry Kane Stance

Unfortunately for United, Kane does not appear close to leaving Bavaria anytime soon. According to Graeme Bailey of TEAMtalk, the England captain plans to remain at Bayern Munich as he continues to dominate German football.

Kane’s current contract expires in June 2027, but Bayern already want to extend it by another year, with Kane himself reportedly open to remaining until 2028—the same year England could host the European Championship, with Kane likely captaining the Three Lions on home soil.

Despite Bayern’s dramatic Champions League exit against Paris Saint-Germain, with Kane scoring a late equaliser on the night before Bayern crashed out 6-5 on aggregate, the Bundesliga giants still suit him perfectly.

Kane already thrived at Tottenham Hotspur, but his numbers in Germany have reached absurd levels. His lowest-scoring season at Bayern still produced 41 goals, matching the best return of his career in North London.

This season alone, Kane has already struck 55 times, including 33 Bundesliga goals, leaving him eight clear of Erling Haaland in the European Golden Shoe race. Should he hold onto that lead, he would become just the 12th player in history to win the award on multiple occasions.

Interest is still strong in England

Despite Kane leaning towards a new Bayern contract, interest from England remains strong. United continue to admire the striker, whilst Chelsea have also monitored the situation surrounding their former London rival.

Tottenham, unsurprisingly, still dream of bringing Kane home in the twilight years of his career, hoping he could reignite the club and fire Spurs back towards European football, provided they avoid a disastrous slide towards relegation this season.

United minority owner Jim Ratcliffe reportedly remains a huge admirer of Kane. The British billionaire would love to bring the England captain to Old Trafford, even if the striker falls outside INEOS’ preferred transfer model due to his age.

But despite the admiration, the reality remains straightforward. Kane dominates Germany. Neither the player nor his club currently shows any desire to walk away from the partnership.

A move back to England after his contract expires still cannot be ruled out entirely. But by that stage, Kane would already be 34 years old, turning 35 just weeks later.
