Como vs Man Utd Preview: Team news, injuries, form and where to watch

Manchester United travel to Italy on Wednesday, looking for their first win since September 10, when they face Como in the Champions League.

Michael Carrick’s side have struggled to build any momentum this season. Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Leeds extended their winless run to six matches in all competitions, leaving United with just seven points from their opening seven Premier League games.

The pressure on Carrick continues to grow. A win in Europe would offer some relief, but Como will not make life easy for Manchester United.

Como vs Man Utd: Recent form

Manchester United began their Champions League campaign with a convincing 4-0 win over Sabah FK but lost 2-0 to Atletico Madrid in their next match. They have since drawn with Leeds, having also failed to beat Fulham and Tottenham in the Premier League.

Their last six matches across all competitions have produced three draws and three defeats. Michael Carrick is in pressure of his own and needs a response from his players, particularly with United sitting 13th in the Premier League and 13th in the Champions League standings.

Como have shown more promise. Cesc Fabregas’ side beat RB Leipzig 4-1 in Europe before losing 3-2 to Feyenoord. They returned to winning ways against Fiorentina, claiming a 3-1 victory that moved them up to fifth in Serie A, with 14 points from seven games.

Como have scored 11 goals and conceded eight across their last six matches in all competitions. United have struggled, with their only clean sheet of the season coming against Sabah FK.

Man Utd and Como team news

United have several confirmed absentees ahead of the trip to Italy. Patrick Dorgu, Manuel Ugarte and Benjamin Sesko are ruled out, while Leny Yoro is suspended for the European fixture after picking a red against Atletico Madrid.

Lisandro Martinez is a major concern after coming off at half-time against Leeds with a thigh problem. Ayden Heaven, Luke Shaw and Kobbie Mainoo are all doubtful for the game.

Como will be without Assane Diao, who is sidelined with a thigh injury. Moise Kean has a shin problem and is a doubt, while Trevoh Chalobah is also a fitness concern with a muscular issue.
