Manchester United v Cambridge United: Predicted line-up

Manchester United v Cambridge United: Predicted line-up

Every Manchester United fan that expected a convincing win last time out against Cambridge, myself included got a wakeup call and an invitation to the ‘magic of the cup’ party. Cambridge played out of their skin to get the draw they deserved. Tomorrow night, Old Trafford needs to be rocking because this is our best chance to win our 12th F.A Cup. This is no time for fairy tales, we need to get the job done and move on. This is my Line-up prediction and the reasons why.

(GK) Victor Valdes: With De Gea starting most games, and Valdes not starting for the U21s tonight, it seems likely that Valdes will start.

(RB) Valencia: Given Rafael’s appearance for the U21s, Valencia should be starting over Rafael.

(CB) Patrick McNair: Subbed on against Leicester which leads me to think he starts tomorrow night. Seems to have recovered from his shambolic display away to Southampton and still very young, perfect game for him.

(CB)  Marcos Rojo: I have been very impressed with the Argentinian so far this season and he is definitely laying his claim as our best defender which I’m sure pleases plenty of fans. He starts this game for me for the sheer stability he offers.

(LB) Luke Shaw: Had a good game in an attacking sense against Leicester and definitely has the ability going forward but hasn’t yet been tested defensively enough, so a run of games is needed and that run continues tomorrow.

(CDM) Daley Blind: Man of the match on Saturday. Controlled the game effectively in Carrick’s absence, excellent distribution of the ball and a nice flick on for the own goal. Has the potential to be special.

(CM) Marouane Fellaini: I think Fellaini will start to add some presence in midfield, my next two predictions might need a bit of freedom and I think Fellaini can cover their forward runs.

(CM) Ander Herrera: I really do not understand how Herrera doesn’t warrant a run in the team. When he plays, he is superb on the ball, aggressive, very good passer of the ball and has the potential to cause serious damage to teams. But then again we don’t see him in training everyday so maybe we are missing something?

(CAM) Juan Mata: Left out last time against Cambridge and on the bench against Leicester which leads me to think he starts this game. Here’s hoping he finds some of his magic and provides the strikers with some killer passes.

(ST) James Wilson: Louis Van Gaal has showed faith in the young striker so far this season and I can see this being the case tomorrow, shows a good appetite for the game and causes damage with his pace and good finishing. It helps being around the likes of Falcao and RVP.

(ST) Robin Van Persie: Great finish against Leicester on Saturday, he will be looking to push on and grab a few more goals tomorrow and with Wilson’s pace dragging Cambridge defenders away RVP will be looking to exploit that space.
