West Ham United v Manchester United: Predicted line-up

image(GK) David De Gea: Proved to be very quiet on Tuesday but it won’t be quite as easy against West Ham. There have been questions surrounding his future at the club recently but he needs to put that to the back of his mind and continue his immense form this season.

(RB) Patrick McNair: Played absolutely superb at right full back on Tuesday, although admittedly, against poor opposition but at his age a performance like that in the first team can only help him develop. With comments from Louis Van Gaal this week hinting that he could be the future starting right back, I would like to see him tested against tougher opposition as I believe he has the quality.

(CB) Marcos Rojo: Great performance against Cambridge this week in which he scored his first goal for Manchester United. The fans seem to have warmed to the Argentinian and if he continues his current form he should start whenever he is fit.

(CB) Phil Jones: Left out on Tuesday but it seems Van Gaal might just have found his preferred partnership at the back with Jones and Rojo. Jones needs to find confidence when he is on the ball but that should come after a run of games in an unchanged set-up.

(LB) Luke Shaw: Unfortunate to pick up a slight knock before Tuesday’s game, but according to the manager he is fit so I see him reclaiming his spot in the line-up.

(CDM) Daley Blind: Started off with a poor pass to let in the Cambridge striker for an early scare but definitely grew into the game cutting out opposition attacks and quickly starting our attacks. With Carrick out Blind retains his place in front of the back four.

(CM) Marouane Fellaini: After being deployed in a more attacking role on Tuesday, I feel he will be played in a more central role to combat any physical presence that West Ham will more than likely adopt.

(CM) Angel Di Maria: With the news this week of an attempted break-in at his home and his willingness to play, I think Di Maria will again be used in a central midfield role with the permission to roam and attack the opposition.

(CAM) Wayne Rooney: Unusually poor performance in that deeper midfield role on Tuesday, so I see a move into a position behind the two strikers where he can hopefully be more effective.

(ST) Robin Van Persie: Good performance on Tuesday night grabbing an assist with a majestic touch and cross. Unfortunately he didn’t add his name to the score sheet so hopefully he rights that wrong on Sunday. (ST) Radamel

(ST) Falcao: After being rested against Cambridge, I see him being reinstated in the line-up for Sunday’s game. He should be looking to continue and add to his promising displays over the last few weeks and look to find the net again
