Manchester United v Tottenham Hotspur: Predicted line-up

Manchester United host Tottenham Hotspur tomorrow, in a game that is vital for the club to try and spark some momentum as we embark on a season defining run of fixtures. Here is my predicted lineup for United.

(GK) David De Gea- Played well against Arsenal in a result many will want to forget. Obvious inclusion, but will be up against a hungry Harry Kane so he will have to be at his best.

(RB) Rafael- With Valencia being exposed defensively on many occasions this season, it is time for United’s only experienced right back to come back into the side regardless of the manager’s preferences. Stunning goal for the under 21s midweek.

(CB) Chris Smalling- Currently our inform defender and this should continue against Spurs. Needs to stay alert and focused against a lively attack.

(CB) Marcos Rojo- The Argentine will face a late fitness test but should he be passed fit, then he needs to play. A solid back 4 is necessary to provide stability for the coming games.

(LB) Luke Shaw- Taken off against Arsenal after a ghostly display and will be looking to improve and show fans why the club splashed out major money on the teenager.

(CDM) Daley Blind- Decent game against Arsenal, Blind is another one the players that is an obvious inclusion when fit. Sublime calm passes and breaking up the play are some of his many traits.

(CDM) Michael Carrick- Not one I would necessarily go with myself but, bringing Carrick on against Arsenal may be a sign that he will be played in midfield against Spurs.

(LM) Adnan Januzaj- With Di Maria suspended for this game, Januzaj will be looking to capitalize and stake a claim in the team. Hopefully he performs to his ability and has a go at the Spurs fullbacks.

(CAM) Wayne Rooney- Scored a good goal against Arsenal and has looked lively when playing in more attacking positions recently. He should be looking to get on the score sheet and find some scoring form.

(RM) Juan Mata- I hope to all things holy that the Spaniard can get into the team. We are crying out for some movement and killer passes and this guy has both in abundance. Reports recently claiming he is surplus to requirements but, when he plays he makes an impact.

(ST) Radamel Falcao- Played for the u21s against Spurs this week in a shock inclusion. I am having mixed emotions regarding Falcao because although he isn’t performing now, I feel wherever he goes next he will show his talent. Needs to start scoring big goals and performing well.
