Louis van Gaal has taken an 18-man squad to Belgium for the second leg of Manchester United’s Champions League play-off against Club Brugge.
The manager has made only one change from the match-day squad that drew with Newcastle United at Old Trafford on Saturday, with auxiliary right-back Antonio Valencia being replaced by Marouane Fellaini, who scored the vital third goal against Brugge last Tuesday.
The rest of the squad is as expected, with Phil Jones still recovering from mild thrombosis and Marcos Rojo lacking match fitness. David de Gea will also continue to be on the sidelines, having been ruled out until the end of the transfer window due to interest from Real Madrid.
The Reds hold a two goal lead going into the second leg on Wednesday night, after a splendid double from Memphis and a injury-time header from Fellaini cancelled out Michael Carrick’s unfortunate own goal at Old Trafford.
The squad flew to Brugge from Manchester Airport on this morning, and will train at the Jan Breydel Stadium later tonight. Read Man Utd will bring you quotes from van Gaal at the conclusion of his pre-match press conference.
