Louis van Gaal offered no real surprises in his pre-match press conference on Friday, which is probably a good thing given that there was a fresh injury to report every week in 2014-15.
However, he did reveal that Adnan Januzaj will miss the trip to the Liberty Stadium having picked up a knock against Club Brugge in Wednesday’s Champions League play-off second leg tie, which the Red Devils won 4-0.
The manager confirmed that Phil Jones, who has been absent since pre-season, is still suffering from “mild thrombosis” so will also not be on the train down to Wales for Sunday’s fixture.
In some much happier news, van Gaal was able to reveal that Argentinian defender Marcos Rojo played 60 minutes of a behind-closed-doors game against Ajax u-21 this week. United won 2-0, with goals from Sean Goss and James Wilson.
Marouane Fellaini has completed his suspension for his red card on the final day of last season in a 0-0 draw with Hull at the KC Stadium – so is available for selection against Swansea this weekend.
Here’s a look at how United will likely line up at the Liberty Stadium, in what will be Louis van Gaal’s 50th game in charge of the club:
