Evra still hurt by United exit

Ex-Manchester United left-back Patrice Evra is still hurt by the manner in which he ended up leaving the Premier League side, according to what he told RMC (via Sportsmole).

The French defender, who now plays for defending Serie A champions Juventus, left the club in 2014 after the arrival of current United manager Louis van Gaal.

Having spent 8 years at Old Trafford, Evra found himself departing England for Italy, despite having signed a one-year contract extension just two months earlier.

Speaking to RMC, he said:

“It’s still hard to talk about my exit – But one day, when my career is over, I’ll be able to speak more openly about it.”

Evra was the best left-back in the world for a few seasons when United won the 2008 Champions League in Moscow – and he is held in high regard by United fans, who love his passion for the club.

One special relationship Evra had was with Ji-Sung Park; the pair became very close friends as they won Premier League titles together, and Evra was visibly upset when the South Korean left the club.

He was a vital cog in a Juventus side which won the league and their domestic cup, as well as reaching the Champions League final last season, but it’s not where he wants to be:

“I came to Turin above all for my family because at Manchester they had inserted a clause in our agreement which changed the situation considerably. It really annoyed me.”

Maybe like Park, he’ll one day return as an ambassador for the club. We love you,, Patrice.
