Manchester United’s first port of call following the international break will be Goodison Park to face Roberto Martinez’s Everton.
The Toffees have been somewhat of a bogey team for United over the years, but United need three points to keep the pressure on Manchester City ahead of the derby next weekend – so Louis van Gaal has some thinking to do.
Paddy McNair is definitely out, having sustained an injury playing for Northern Ireland, but Wayne Rooney, Michael Carrick and Bastian Schweinsteiger are all thought to be available despite suffering injuries in training with their national teams. Marcos Rojo should be up for selection, having been kept in Manchester by van Gaal, who didn’t want to risk a recurrence of an injury by letting him play for Argentina.
Anthony Martial notched two assists in as many games for France, whilst Matteo Darmian scored his first international goal as Italy beat Azerbaijan 3-1.
