In a surprising turn of events in Spain, Gary Neville has been appointed as the new head coach of Valencia until the end of the season.
Neville, whose brother Phil is currently assistant manager at Valencia, who is not taking charge of first-team affairs until Sunday, will take his first-ever game as head coach/manager against Lyon in the Champions League on Wednesday 9th December.

The former Manchester United defender has been a coach with the England national team since 2012 while also working as a pundit for Sky Sports in that time. Upon the deal being agreed, he spoke of his delight at getting the opportunity to manage a club like Los Che:
I am excited and I am proud to have received this huge opportunity with Valencia Football Club. It is a huge club, of immense prestige and I remember well from my time as a player, the passion and loyalty of their fans.
The 40-year old is also a part owner of Salford City FC along with former team-mates Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt.
