Inter director hints at Mourinho’s future

Inter director Bedy Moratti may have accidentally revealed José Mourinho’s next career move.

The sister of former Inter president Massimo Moratti told Calcio Mercato that the Portuguese manager would be heading to Manchester United for his next job.

Speaking after leaving a lunch meeting between Mourinho and her family, she said:

Of course, he’s always fantastic and we missed him as a person here. But he’s happy now, he’s going to Manchester.

Mourinho is in Milan after being invited by Moretti to watch his former side take on Sampdoria this evening at the San Siro, and La Stampa reckons that the 53-year-old is also scouting Mauro Icardi and Miranda to assess whether they would be good signings when he takes on the United job in the summer.

The Special One has been linked heavily with the top job at Old Trafford with Louis van Gaal coming under increasing pressure, but Mourinho has refused to speak publicly about the Red Devils’ job and the prospect of taking over from his good friend.

United take on Shrewsbury in the FA Cup on Monday night, and anything other than a victory will put van Gaal under further pressure after the Red Devils suffered a dire defeat in the first leg of their Europa League tie against Danish side Midtjylland.
