Manchester United take on Liverpool in their first leg of their Europa League tie on Thursday night, with this being the first European encounter between the two sides.
Aside from a quarter-final place being at stake, both sets of fans will be looking to get the bragging rights on each other from this titanic clash.
This clash also throws up an interesting managerial clash – the idealistic, possession based football of Louis van Gaal against the heavy metal, pressing-bassed football of Jürgen Klopp.
Both managers have had tussles before – when they were the managers of Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga – but this will mark the first time that the pair have met each other in Europe.
While Van Gaal’s record in Europe is exemplary – winning a UEFA Cup and a Champions League title while in charge of Ajax, as well as leading Bayern Munich to the Champions League final, Klopp’s record in Europe is quite mixed.
