Saturday evening will be quite the occasion – Manchester United have finally made their way back to the FA Cup final. Their last outing at this, ultimate stage of England’s most fondly-thought of competition came nine years ago, in 2007; when the Red Devils lost to Chelsea in extra-time.
This lack of an FA Cup triumph since the 2004 final against Millwall means that only one of the current United squad has actually received a winners’ medal – and not in red! Juan Mata was crucial to Chelsea’s victorious side in 2012 – and was voted man of the match in the final against Liverpool.
Long-standing United men Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick have both won everything there is to win in a United shirt – bar the FA Cup, which has long eluded them. Will they make the cut to face Crystal Palace?
Here’s who we expect to see line up against Alan Pardew’s Eagles…
